Salvatican Army Soldier

The face of The Salvatican Army for over 100 years has been that of the rankless enlisted soldier. During The Salvatican Revolution rebels from across the country wore their tribal colors and banded together regardless of band affiliation to combat The Felonians. Of these tribal colors, green was perhaps the most abundant, which leaves little wonder as to why the Salvatican Empire chose green as the color for their grunts. Despite the varying levels of technology present in the world, the Salvatican Soldier's standard arm has remain unchanged; It's still the sword. Grunts are also trained in the operation of firearms and in archery, but these weapons are only given as special issue, for special missions. The widespread use of firearms has not been adopted in the Salvatican Army, and the reason is twofold. The greatest reason being that the inner circle responsible for the formation of The New Salvatican Empire after the defeat of The Felonian occupational forces saw another rebellion as their most significant threat. They recall well how a single machine gun emplacement's ability to kill sword wielding soldiers was limited only by the weapon's ammunition. And so securing all firearms for themselves and denying them to everyone else became a top priority.. Even if it meant denying it to their own forces. The lesser reason is that firearms are seen as a Felonian creation, and thus reviled to no end. The grunts themselves would rather have a large, King Monarch The First, style sword than a Felonian plasma blaster. These grunts themselves represent the future and only career option for the majority of Salvatican males. Anyone 15-25 not working Monarch's fields, or able to afford the @500 ammonite a month exclusionary payment has their name automatically entered into the weekly draft.
